There's a kind of underground movement in web design lately that calls for designing for forward compatibility instead of backward compatibility. It basically says, "You're using IE 4.0? That's too bad, that isn't a standards-compliant browser." and puts any blame on the user. I LOVE IT!!! Yep! The point is that DOM is part of the standards, and MS finally started paying attention to the standards in IE 5.5 I think, and especially so with IE6. So things are much easier than they used to be. Especially now that MS has so much competition from things like FireFox and Opera. But anyway, I got off the point there….

Basically cutting out standalone browser downloads altogether. If you want the new browser you have to buy the new OS. Kinda dumb, with all the new kickass browsers...
